Camp Emanuel was established in 2001 when Grigore Buia, a life-long children’s ministry leader, heeded God’s insistent call to open a Christian camp for children.
After working in the ministry for over 20 years, Grigore Buia became the director of a summer camp for orphans in the Republic of Moldova. After experiencing miracles on a daily basis and seeing transformations in the lives and attitudes of the neglected orphans, Grigore received the vision and growing passion from God to give more children the amazing and important opportunity to meet with the Lord and decide to zealously live for Him.
Even though many challenges and much opposition arose, all has been overcome through Christ. Through his will, Camp Emanuel is a licensed and organized camp for the ninth year in a row.
Camp Emanuel strives to create a comfortable environment where children and youth are free to express themselves, ask the tough questions, and form a solid belief in Christ. The word Emanuel means God with us. Our desire is not just for the camper to experience the presence of God at camp, but to also take Him with them through every stage of life. Our goal is to direct young people to find, follow, and finish the will of God for their lives.
