Testimonies

I would like to take a few moments and introduce myself. My name is Liviu Vlad and this was the second straight year I participated as a counselor at Camp Emanuel. Personally, this camp has become very dear to my heart. Not only have I witnessed the power of Holy Spirit changing the lives of young boys and girls but in the end it changed my relationship with my Heavenly Father.

I will mention two examples, this year there was a boy let’s call him John. When I first met him he was arrogant, bullying others around, very loud, didn’t listen to anybody, and was always complaining during chapel time. However, the second night during chapel around halfway the Holy Spirit took control of the gathering and the children started praying and with time the prayers became more intense. Tears started to pour down their red cheeks and their hands were lifted high in the air worshiping our Lord. I turned to see what our friend John was doing and all I saw was tears of repentance and a cry of desperation for mercy. My heart melted but at the same time I was excited because I could see how his little heart was slowly but surely transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. I can testify that for the remainder of camp John was a different person. His behavior changed towards the children, he started to respect the people in authoritative positions, he was paying attention during chapel, and most importantly you should have seen the way he would pray. Praise the Lord!!!
The second wonderful experience I would like to share is from my first time at Camp Emanuel in 2006.

It was the last night during the first week we were there and little did we know what our Heavenly Father had in store for us! We were at the end and were preparing for the last prayer and all I can account for is we started praying and the power of the Holy Spirit came down on the place we gathered and a fire was ignited. We couldn’t stop the children from praying, they were worshiping the one that deserves all the glory in heaven and the earth. At times during the prayer, three of the four children started speaking in tongues. It was the most awesome and amazing experience I have witnessed my entire life. That night, we ended up praying until late in the night. It was past 2 in the morning when we decided that the children need their rest.
In conclusion, I can encourage YOU to be a part of this amazing camp. God will change and transform your children and make them a brand new creature. But for that to become a reality a lot of prayer needs to be invested. Remember that we serve a living and a VERY powerful God; the only one and true God. Be blessed.
